Wedding Band Design

“Book My Consultation Now”

Make your wedding truly unique and reflective of your personality. You will spend countless hours putting together your special day; trying on about 500 dresses, visiting dozens of venues, agonizing over decor details. Shouldn’t your jewelry get the same attention?
At The Den we believe that the jewelry you wear on your wedding day should be crafted with love, attention and above all be as unique and special as you and your partner are. Our Wedding Packages are tailored to allow you to be completely integrated in the design process and most importantly in the creation of your jewellery. The memory you share in creating the pieces that will be a symbol of your love, will be just as priceless as the feeling of finally becoming one. (EB one what?)

DIY Wedding Bands:
In this private workshop, you and your partner will share the romance of making your own wedding rings with the help of an experienced goldsmith. You can choose from a variety of metals and widths and can infuse your own style and flare into your rings.

The memories you create during this unique and remarkable experience will be as beautiful as the rings themselves, and both will last a lifetime.

How Does it Work?

During your first meeting with The Den for your consultation, you will discuss what type of ring you are looking to create; the material you wish to use, stones you want to be set and the style of the ring. Next we’ll source your chosen materials and have everything prepared for your private workshop date!

During this intimate workshop, you will learn the basic skills necessary to create a band ring and become familiar with the process of turning a flat piece of metal into a beautifully shaped ring.

You and your partner will work with our experienced goldsmiths in a private workshop to make your dream rings become a reality while you creatively learn and build together.

After you’ve completed your rings like a pro, we’ll finish it up by appraising your rings, setting any stones, engraving or any other unique design choices before being ready for pick-up back at the studio.

Description:
In this workshop students are given a strip of sterling silver and are guided by our in-house goldsmith through the process of making a simple silver band ring. Sterling silver is a white metal that is easy to work with and a great medium to begin your explorations into working with fine metal. Silver is very conductive, which means it transfers heat very easily. It is so fun finding out what the benefits and challenges associated with every kind of metal are!

Choose between making a wide or thin band, hammered texture or non-textured surface. At the end of this session you will have gained basic knowledge of industry nomenclature and will have a better appreciation for the process involved in making Jewelry from fine metal.

Your hands and eyes will be trained to do things a whole new way. Pay attention to the fine details that make a well-made piece of Jewelry like: even metal thickness, quality of the polish, proper solder seams. You will start to notice things about Jewelry that you had never seen before. We will teach you the right way to achieve a quality silver ring that won’t break.

We encourage you to pick up some tools and let us show you how to make a lasting piece of art you can be proud of.

In the first session the instructor will explain the finer points of bale (the piece that allows your pendant to be put on a chain) form and function, teaching you the different configurations that will affect the way your pendant hangs. If you want it to stay still, move around, or even spin we can teach you how to get it done. You can experiment with texturing the surface to add some interest too! Few people get to say “Yes I made that”. Now you can! We want to see what you can do when you are given the artistic control. Allow yourself to become the designer you always knew you were!

Make pendants for your friends and family! They make great gifts because you don’t have to worry about sizing like a ring. You can always reuse your pendant design in a full set of custom made jewelry. Think of how cool it would look as a pair of earrings or a bracelet.

bench Jewellery job but don’t think they are ready. They have no idea how fast they can actually work or if they can meet their future employer’s standards. In short they lack confidence in their goldsmithing skills and are looking for a workshop that will shape them up.
Time is money. Our instructors will make you into lean mean production machines. In this intensive workshop we stress the need for perfection and proper time management in every step of the fabrication process. Students are a given strips of silver to make in to polished rings that are the right size, perfectly polished with no firescale and with a good soldier seam. They have to complete this task within a time limit and meet all the criteria to get a passing grade.

Our instructors stress the need for perfection and proper time management in every step of the fabrication process. It is important to know your worth when pricing out an order especially if a client asks for a quote on a bulk order, sometimes it takes brutally underpricing yourself a few times to learn the lesson that you don’t know how much your time is really worth. It is a lesson you can afford to avoid. Spend some time honing your skills; when your next big commission comes along you will be glad you did.
